Alright, so I kind of had a rough arrival into Massachusetts, what with missing my exit, having to drive an extra hour to get back to the exit, landing in the wrong town on the wrong road, and now my phone is dead. It stopped working around noon yesterday, and I haven’t been able to get it to turn on. I even tried putting it on the charger and putting it in a bag of rice to try and relieve the water damage from my walk. I decided to buy a new phone online today after I gave up. My phone still won’t turn on. Also, one of the cats peed on my couch downstairs, which I’m told is really unusual behavior. I’m house sitting for the year and taking care of two black cats. The owners of the house and the cats seem fairly friendly. They said that they set up an appointment with a pet communicator to try and see why Cubby “acted out.” I don’t know if I believe in that kind of thing, but they are convinced it will work. Anyway, it’s a bit of a drag to have a couch that smells like cat pee.
Since my phone is dead, it takes more planning to take pictures. I found three beautiful ramaria fungus specimens, but when I tried to use my camera, of course the battery was dead. I will charge it tonight and try to find the ramaria again tomorrow. Here’s a picture of the white Indian pipe plant. It’s actually really common here:
I met my boss at the studio today and he showed me around, telling me that I would have the keys to every door in the building, once my paperwork goes through. I’m even going to have an office and a section of the studio to call mine. Hopefully it will be a wonderful year. Just gotta make better friends with the cats…
I guess I didn’t really post many photos of what I was working on back in Utah. Here’s a photo of some of my newest glazed and fired cups:
