Progress: slip design plate– Aquamarine Waterlily pattern

I’m trying to develop the new idea… but I am currently waiting on an order from AMACO to arrive, so my color palette is limited at the moment. I do have this lovely green underglaze that fires to an aquamarine color on my white porcelain. I am working on a theory– carrying over my new drawing technique to my clay work. I want to learn how to make my surfaces look similar to my drawings. I know that I won’t be able to duplicate the watercolor effect, but I need to find better carving tools and brushes for finer lines. This is just me attempting to draw outside of my own lines 🙂

About clayhead33

I am a potter-- I love to draw, play guitar, cook yummy food... and just have fun in general. I love to make a difference with my work, even something as small as inspiring a fellow artist :)
